Rowan Kemmerly,

Ph.D. Candidate

Rowan Kemmerly serves as administrative support to the executive director. They are a PhD candidate in Social-Personality Psychology at Rutgers–Newark, working with Dr. Samantha Heintzelman in the Well-Being Lab. Their research broadly examines the daily processes of well-being and personality, with a specific interest in a dimension of well-being known as psychological richness—the idea that a good life can be defined not only by happiness or meaning, but also by the variety, novelty, and perspective-changing qualities of one’s experiences. Their additional work explores the effectiveness of well-being and personality change interventions. Rowan has presented their work at many academic conferences, including those of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, Association for Research in Personality, and the European Conference on Personality. They are a current recipient of the Harold J. Siegel Fellowship, and have served as the psychology department grad representative of the Rutgers AAUP-AFT since 2024. Rowan holds an MA in Experimental Psychology from Wake Forest University.
